Lange B12 - Low Frequency Noise SourceLOW FREQUENCY EXTENSION FOR D12 AND D12AIntroduced in February 2017 the B12 is a specific subwoofer designed to extend the frequency response of dodecahedrons in Architectural and Building Acoustic context. Dodecahedrons are in fact unable to generate significant low frequency output below approximately 150 Hz, thus the B12 specific design is an optimal complement for the investigation of frequencies that range from 20Hz up to 150Hz.
The B12 consist of two separate sealed volumes, both including a high excursion 315 mm, 600W / 4 Ohm low frequency driver. Due to design and principle the system does not generate unwanted noises imposed by, for example, reflex venting turbulences. Both drivers have a removable polyurethane protection foam that can easily be removed during operation avoiding eventual noise to be heard or measured. The particular configuration allows the system to not move nor shake while operating, the unit remains still also while operating at full power. This device is DSP controlled and is proposed with 4 factory presets that enable different frequency response filtering. Through a USB port it is possible to edit two custom settlings that are tailored to the specific needs of architects or acoustic engineers. Settlings can be saved as "Preset 3" and "Preset 4" via USB cable. Preset recall is performed on the input panel of the B12 and a green LED indicates which of the four selectable presets is in use. Signal input can manage Parametric, hi/lo shelving, band pass, band stop, all pass filters; Signal EQ can manage Custom FIR, parametric IIR: peaking, hi/lo-shelving, all-pass, band-pass, band-stop, hi/lo-pass filters. Filter type can be selected and settled among Butterworth, Linkwitz-Riley, Bessel or arbitrary asymmetric nature: 6 dB/oct to 48 dB/oct (IIR), linear phase (FIR), hybrid (FIR-IIR). Furthermore up to 340 ms output delay can be imposed to signal routing as well as Peak limiter, RMS limiter and frequency dependent RMS limiter. Applications
